Acetal Rod, Sheet and Tube

Acetal is a semi-crystalline material with high strength, a low coefficient of friction and good wear properties especially in wet environments. It has excellent resistance to hydrolysis.

Polysource offers both Homopolymer and Copolymer grades of acetal. The Copolymer is porosity-free and is the standard general purpose grade. For slightly higher mechanical properties, the non-standard Homopolymer grade is offered.

The Homopolymer acetal offers slightly higher mechanical properties than the Copolymer, but the Copolymer offers better chemical resistance. The Homopolymer is suitable for small diameter, thin-walled bushings that benefit from the additional strength and rigidity. It is the preferred acetal for food contact and medical applications.
